i am on my huge trip with krista. i started on christmas day with 4 trains from denmark to budapest. after my night train (12 hours on the same train from berlin) i arrived to meet krista who was coming from switzerland.
budapest was absolutely lovely! we went to the castel, saw the parliment, hero's square, and more. we even went to a natural hot springs bath (aka huge hot tubs)... we also went and saw and opera at the
after budapest we went to vienna... we walked around seeing all the major sites... along with a great music museum... i ended up being in the history museum when the veinna philharmonic was doing their dress rehersal for the new years performance it was incredible!
we went to saltzburg and saw how cute the city was along with tons of mozart stuff and some sound of music things... we didn't go on a tour because they were 33 euro's which is like 48 american dollars!!! just for a tour! oh sound of music how capitalized you are now! =(
we then headed to our friend monika's house in the mountains of austria... here we celebrated new years on one of the main mountains... we couldn't get a taxi to bring us back down so we ended up walking our way back down a ski slope! it was one of the most dangerous things i've ever done but thank goodness for monika and her boyfriend patrick who helped us down... they are used to being on the slopes and in snow like that... i thought for sure i'd tummble down the mountain... but yay! =)
tonight we are headed to rome on a night train and will be there for the next 3 days... i'm pretty excited!!!

Beth, it looks like you are having such a great time! What an awesome adventure. I was so happy to hear you were keeping a blog. It's such an easy way to stay in touch. We look forward to seeing so much more fun!!
