after lunch we still needed to get me a bike! this was an item that was a need not a want and was not to be negotiated... :) as Bjørg said once you get a bike you are independent... how true... so we check many shops around the shopping streets... there was only one shop that had used bikes... and i found the perfect bike for me! :) Bjørg said i ended up getting a granny bike! hahaha! she said it was a granny bike because it had a nice big cushy seat and i sit tall on it and the handle bars are high... i think it is funny because i had a granny car always in the states but now i've got a granny bike... sounds like me! :)
after getting my new bike it was time to head to the university so she could show me around! it has been such a long time since i've been on a bike or had a bike with a right side pedal! (oops)
it took me a while to get used to the bike... with the thin city tires and the riding on the street next to cars thing... kinda a problem for me...
anyways we got down to the university... it was a beautiful ride... you ride through tiny spots of woods and we even saw some baby deer running in an open just cut wheat field!!!! soooo cute! the university is a very big building and it connected the entire way... i can't believe it! it is sooooooooooo long and there are three very big stories... so much space but i'm sure it will get crowded when there are 17,000 students there!
we headed back by Bjørg's house first and then i had to find my way back by myself... i ended up going the way we went back through the parks the first day... when i was walking my bike across a busy street i was stopped by... some mormons... i was actually happy to have two more people who are americans there.... i let them talk to me a little bit... i don't have any huge problems with the mormon religion... all the mormons i’ve ever met have been very very nice… can’t hate nice pleasant people!
they gave me their card so that if i had any questions about the city and they told me to come by their student nights... i'm not sure i'll end up doing anything but it is nice to say... i know some americans here and i can call them if i can't find a single thing! haha...
it only took me 2 more min to get back home so that was a nice little ride right by the river... ah! the beauty of the parks here... and the fact that everyone takes advantage of them and respects the parks... makes me happy!
after getting back i did a few things like eat and then head to bed... long day... and i like my sleep! :)
