heidelberg-- fall break

after climbing all the way up to the castle, castle, along the streets of heidelberg...

first 3 all views going down from the castle, cute!!! and me by ruins of the castle.

in the tower looking out on the beautiful city!

more views of the city and the castle!

so on the way to heidelberg (which i always spell wrong and have to correct)... while in the train station i grabbed a regional snack for the ride... a artery clogging treat if i ever saw one... but i had to try it once while i was there! it was a pretzel cut in half like a bagel and then had regular butter and then chives in the middle... it was soooo good but i didn't think i was going to be able to finish it... but anyways...

on the train it was so full... there was a huge group of 7th grade children with luggage as large as when i moved here! i have no idea where they were headed but the train was going to zurich so maybe there... but i couldn't believe it... there was only one teacher for these 15-20 7th graders! what a nightmare!!! i was so glad it wasn't me...

we weren't staying in heidelberg that night so we were lucky enough (haha) to be real backpacking crazies! we hiked our way through the city with our packs on... from the train station up a very very steep hill and winding cute cobblestone streets to the castle! it was quite the hike by itself let alone with a huge pack on our backs... but it was nice walk and it was very very cute! we walked around the castle some and the grounds there was so much to see we didn't even cover a good chunk of the gardens and such...

we had an even harder time going down the streets because they were so steep... wasn't sure if i was going to tip forward or backward because of the pack and the angle of the street... once we headed back to the train station we caught an earlier train to munich... we almost caught one even earlier (it was our "amazing race" moment) but we missed it by like 30seconds... we were going down the escalator while it was pulling out... but we were able to grab some food quick before we caught the next train...

while on the train i was messing with my camera... i shake a lot when i take pictures and i was looking for a setting that made up for it especially in the dark but i had no such luck... i had even worse luck when i clicked something that made alllll 175 pictures i had taken in the past 3 days were gone for no reason... whatever i clicked shouldn't made them disappear... but they did... thank goodness krista has 2 cameras and i've been able to steal her pictures! :) so thank you krista!!! :D
