the tour company was located on shoe lane... i don't know why i feel the need to tell you all but i thought it was the most adorable name for a street so i thought i'd share... :)
we started out riding to the river and going over one of the bridges to the other side... from there we were able to get a great view of the river and the buildings on either side! so here were the sights we saw on the bike tour... the london eye, pariment and big ben, buckingham palace, the park next to buckingham palace who's name i can't remember right now... we also got to see many really nice old london streets as well as the street they used for filming most the diagon ally scenes for harry potter (excuse the spelling)... also got to see millennium bridge, convent garden, trafalgar square... also got to see another garden and a great chunk of the city.
after the bike tour we decided to find london bridge... (i did sing the children's tune for much of the walk over there... ) when we finally saw that we were at "london bridge"... we were sad and very disapoited! it was a boring bridge while "tower bridge" is the one that you would call london bridge... the pretty one! so we walked even farther to tower bridge... at some point during the walk we were stopped by this creepy guy in costume for the london dugeon shows (not my thing)... so beware of creepy people who will bother you if you are going past!
we got to a spot for great pictures of tower bridge... krista and rishma kept going but i stayed behind to sit down and rest my right foot... i believe i had irritated a tendon in my foot causing crazy amounts of pain that i am just not used to! they came back and got me after getting a few pictures on the bridge...
after going to tower bridge rishma split off to go back to the hostel to meet one of her cousins/family memebers who lives in wales... she then left us and we didn't see her till the airport on sunday morning...
(i have to run to choir now but i'll be sure to keep updating this tonight/tomorrow because i'm a slacker!)
PART TWO:
krista and i walked around from london bridge to shakespear's globe theater... then walked back to the london eye... we ended up running into the other two american girls who are in our classes
were in the same line for tickets for the eye as well! it was quite a coincidence! :)
so we were able to go up on the eye together which was fun... big groups are always nice... :)
after the eye we wandered around for the longest longest time looking for a yummy and semi cheap place to eat... we ended up walking around to a place back by their hostel called "center page"... it was such a cute little pub we decided to try it out...
after such a long day we sat downstairs where there were no others... it was nice to get some peace and quiet from the rest of london... i ate a freaking great "steak and ale pie"... bascially pot pie... yummmmm! after dinner we went up to pay for our bill and this weird guy comes over and started talking to us... asking us why we were downstairs away from everyone else and where we were from... blah blah blah... he ends up taking our bill and then made us an offer... he said he would pay our bill if did shots with the bartenders... the guy who waited on us downstairs was the manager and said that he was a regular... so we thought... why not... it would save us poor college kids some money... so we did a round of shots and got to skip out of a bill! it was pretty freaking sweet... i don't know how it happened but it was pretty awesome... and don't worry we were safe about it... making sure nobody was following us and such... good night...
